Who we are

AFFILIATE-WATCH is operated by Affiliate-Watch Media, based in the United States (“we”, “us”). We decide how and why the personal data described here is used. Contact us at support@affiliate-watch.com for anything about this policy or your data.

Data we collect

• Account data: your name, email address and a hashed password. We never see or store your password in plain text.
• Content you send us: program, network and software submissions, reports, ownership claims, contact messages and marketer profiles.
• Usage data: page views and clicks on program links, with the country, browser type and the site you came from (domain only). We do not store your IP address; we keep a one-way hash that changes every day.
• Session data: a sign-in cookie and a hashed IP address for each active session.

How we use it and why

• To create and run your account, publish what you submit and show you its status. We need this to provide the service you asked for.
• To send emails you need: email verification, password reset and review results. These are part of the service.
• To count views and clicks so program statistics are real, to measure overall site traffic, and to keep the site secure (rate limits and a bot check). This is in our legitimate interest in running a reliable, spam-free directory.
• To meet legal obligations and to handle legal claims.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for targeted advertising.
• We do not send marketing emails.
• We do not use advertising cookies or build advertising profiles.

What is public

Approved programs and marketer profiles are public. A marketer profile shows only the details you choose to add to it. Your email address is never shown on the site.

Cookies and local storage

• A sign-in cookie, only when you log in. It is strictly necessary for your account to work.
• Your theme choice (light or dark) and unsent form drafts are saved in your browser only.
• We measure overall traffic with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not follow you across other sites.
• We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, so we do not show a cookie banner.

Service providers

Cloudflare runs our hosting, database, file storage, bot check (Turnstile), traffic statistics (Web Analytics) and email sending and receiving. Cloudflare processes data only on our instructions under its data processing terms.

International transfers

We are based in the United States and Cloudflare operates worldwide, so your data may be processed outside your country. For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, transfers rely on safeguards such as the Standard Contractual Clauses included in Cloudflare’s data processing terms.

How long we keep data

• Click and view events: 90 days, then only daily totals are kept.
• Account data: until you delete your account.
• Contact messages and reports: as long as needed to handle them and keep a record of what was decided.
• Approved programs stay listed after account deletion but are no longer linked to you.

How we protect it

All traffic uses HTTPS, passwords are hashed, IP addresses are not stored in readable form, and only our administrators can open the admin area. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data we will tell you as the law requires.

Your rights

• Access: ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: fix your name in account settings or ask us to correct other data.
• Deletion: delete your account at any time from account settings, or ask us to delete other data.
• Portability: ask for your data in a common machine-readable format.
• Objection and restriction: ask us to stop or limit a use based on our legitimate interests.
• If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
• If you live in a US state with a privacy law (such as California), you have the rights to know, delete and correct your data and to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share data, and we will not treat you differently for using your rights.

How to make a request

Email support@affiliate-watch.com from the address on your account. We may ask you to confirm your identity and will reply within 30 days.

Children

AFFILIATE-WATCH is not meant for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you think a child has given us personal data, email support@affiliate-watch.com and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use your data, we will tell account holders by email or with a notice on the site before it takes effect.
