LocalMonero Description
LocalMonero was a peer-to-peer marketplace launched in 2017 for buying and selling Monero, a privacy-focused cryptocurrency, and later other coins through its sister platform AgoraDesk. Users posted and responded to trade offers, paid each other through various methods such as bank transfers or cash, and the platform held coins in escrow until both sides confirmed the trade. It became known in the privacy community and published educational articles and a newsletter. According to its own website, LocalMonero wound down operations in 2024 and has since been taken offline, with only links to archived knowledge articles remaining. Because the service is closed, this listing should not be promoted and should be marked as closed or removed. Privacy coin trading remains under heavy regulatory scrutiny in many countries.
