IP2Location Description
IP2Location is a Malaysian company founded in 2000 that provides IP address intelligence. Its databases and web services map IP addresses to country, region, city, coordinates, ZIP code, time zone, ISP, domain, connection type and mobile carrier, and a separate proxy database flags VPNs, proxies, Tor exit nodes and data centre traffic. Data is updated regularly and delivered as downloadable files, APIs or through integrations with common programming languages and platforms. Businesses use it to personalise content by location, enforce licensing by region, analyse web traffic, block fraud and comply with regulations. A free account gives access to lite databases and limited API queries. For affiliates, IP2Location suits developer blogs, cybersecurity content and ecommerce fraud prevention guides. The programme pays a lifetime commission on referred sales, credited to the affiliate's account.
